Our Journey

2009 — The Beginning

Netchain's roots go back to 2009, when the original platform was established with a simple idea: create a place where people could connect online and build relationships through a South African-focused digital community.

At the time, social media was still developing rapidly. The internet was becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life, and online communities were creating new opportunities for people to communicate beyond geographical boundaries.

From the beginning, our vision was centred around people.

From Afroforum to Afroshub

As the platform evolved, so did its identity.

The platform went through different names and stages of development, including Afroforum and later Afroshub.

Each stage represented an important part of our journey.

The Birth of Netchain

Today, that journey continues under the name Netchain.

From 0 to 100,000+ Users

One of the most important milestones in our journey has been our growth.

Netchain and its predecessor platforms have grown from zero users to a community of more than 100,000 users.
