• Born and bred in a deep, sandy, poor rural village called SADU aka Kristenspruit, (Naga borekwa) situated in the North part of Limpopo, surrounded by mountains
Raised by a widowed Mother ❤️ at the age of 31 with 5 children/boys. I love my Mother 🫶🏽💯
Education was not a fashionable thing then.i witnessed my peers dropping out of school as early as grade 1,2 n 3. Some due to extreme poor family background😭😭.
Yes, some family couldn't afford school uniform and kids were coming to school barefoot.
We survived mostly by hunting animals in the mountains, i even lost my toe nail chasing baboons.
We obviously had hilarious characters like mmata Matome aka Maponya, and many🤣🤣.
I will share mmata Malombo n TB story some other time and after school boys fights which I lost few.
Few decades later, we have changed the narrative and we can do better and more.
    I love Sadu
    Sadu shaped my character
    Sadu taught me Ubuntu
    Sadu my village
    Sadu our village

  • GOOD NEWS FOR THE RESIDENTS OF POLOKWANE MUNICIPALITY
Gone are those days when we had to dig a hole (SEKOTI sa matlakala ka morago ga ntlo ) behind our houses for dumping.
For the first time in History Polokwane Municipality as led by the Executive Mayor John Mpe will launch the rural waste collection programme during the month of September. This is to ensure that Polokwane is a clean area.
Please take note of the day when the trucks will come to your village and CLOCK IT.

  • On 23 December 1985, apartheid security police surrounded Dr Vejay Ramlakan’s home in Merewent, Durban, after weeks of tapping his telephone and penetrating the Umkhonto we Sizwe network around him.
Police forced their way inside and arrested Ramlakan, his wife Sandy Afrika, and MK operatives Sihle Mbongwa, Phila Ndwandwe, Richard Naidoo and “Kwazi Sithole.”
Ramlakan had joined MK in 1977 while studying medicine at the University of Natal, trained militarily in South Africa and Swaziland, and qualified as a doctor in 1980.
While working in casualty at King Edward Hospital, he joined MK’s command structures in Natal and helped build Operation Butterfly, an underground network spanning Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Port Shepstone and Newcastle.
Ramlakan commanded underground units and was later convicted of ordering the bombing of Amichand Rajbansi’s Chatsworth home, targeting the leader of apartheid’s tricameral House of Delegates.
When MK operative Sbu Mazibuko survived an explosion that killed Zinto Cele in the Bluff, Ramlakan treated his wounds and helped hide him and his family while police helicopters searched for him.
On trial for treason, Ramlakan refused to yield, declaring that apartheid could keep sentencing fighters, but more would follow “until the people do govern.”
Apartheid sent him to Robben Island, before he walked free on 16 April 1991.
White supremacy imprisoned the doctor, activist and MK commander.
Vejay Ramlakan took the war to apartheid.
